I attained my first Bachelor of Science degree in 1996 in Business Administration. My husband and I got married in 1997 and life as a young married couple began. We relocated to Portland, Oregon from New Jersey to pursue my husband's professional endeavors.
In 2000 we became parents to a wonderful little girl who is now thirteen. In 2002 another little girl entered our lives, she is now eleven. During our many moves to various parts of the country my drive to become an educator grew. As our daughters grew and entered school, I knew the time was right to pursue my professional goals. In 2006 I enrolled in the University of Michigan and attained a second Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education in May 2011.
My goal was to become an elementary school teacher, however life took an interesting turn. I was afforded the opportunity to teach as an Elementary Education- Mathematics instructor at the University of Michigan - Flint. My former professors and instructors placed their trust and confidence in me and recruited me on to their team. The rest, as they say, is history! I have been teaching there since the fall semester of 2011 and have never looked back!
When I am not teaching and learning I really enjoy reading, gardening, and spending quality time with my husband and children. This time includes traveling to different parts of the state for gymnastics meets, book bowl meets, choir performances and band performances. We also travel out of state for some time with our extended family in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Florida.
I will attain my Master of Arts in Elementary Education from Michigan State University at the completion of this summer semester.
